2010 - the time for strategy is now
7am this morning I was talking through the year ahead with a client. The strategy is all but setting a plan for 2010 which will see their online revenues increase ten fold. It was a real buzz to kick-off the day - for all of us.
At Christmas, maybe more than any other time, I'm reminded how much we use the internet to save time, to shop, to find, to live. With even more iPhones and laptops under the tree this year the possibilities for business online are almost endless. The mind boggles. At meetings, even at the pub with the guys, I'm always hearing about the confusion. The online opportunity is definitely more widely accepted than it was when I handed out my first bwired business card, but the choices are multiplying and it's confusing. Enter strategy.
I don't like bleating on about strategy. I do because getting it right gets results. It's the Linus blanket you need when you're faced with a whole world of choice. To tweet? To have a Facebook fan page? To blog? To start a forum? If you're in business already, you know that it's about asking the right questions. These aren't them.
Confused? Don't wanna be? Let's talk strategy for 2010. The countdown's started.
